There was a time in my own life when I needed support myself.
Like many people, I found it difficult to ask for help. When I eventually started counselling, I experienced first-hand the difference it can make to have someone who listens, understands and walks alongside you through difficult times.
That experience helped me in ways I hadn’t expected. It gave me hope at a time when I needed it most and ultimately changed the direction of my life.
While I was still recovering, I enrolled on a Level 2 Counselling Skills course. At first, I simply wanted to understand counselling better. The more I learnt, the more I realised this was the work I wanted to dedicate myself to. I went on to complete Levels 3, 4 and 5, and today I have the privilege of supporting others as a qualified Integrative Counsellor.
My own experience doesn’t mean I know what it’s like to be you. Every person’s story is different, and I would never assume otherwise.
What it has given me is a genuine belief in counselling, an appreciation of how much courage it can take to ask for help, and a deep respect for the trust someone places in me when they begin sharing their story.
Today, I never take for granted the trust someone places in me when they decide to begin counselling.
If we work together, I don’t expect you to have all the answers.
I simply hope you leave each session feeling…
Listened to.
Understood.
Safe.
Hopeful.
And, above all…
…feeling a little less alone than when you arrived.
Hi, I'm Jody, a Level 5 Qualified Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Alongside my counselling work, I’ve spent over twenty years in senior leadership, mentoring and training roles within a large international organisation, supporting people through change, difficult conversations and personal development.
Today, I combine that experience with professional counselling to offer a calm, collaborative and thoughtful approach.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I don’t believe one approach suits everyone. Every person is unique, which is why I adapt the way we work to suit your individual needs, experiences and goals.
I believe counselling works best when there’s a trusting relationship between counsellor and client. My role isn’t to tell you what to do or have all the answers. Instead, I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and support you as we work together towards the changes you want to make.
